EY2010 in Spain

Based on the priorities set by the European Union, each Member State has made a National Programme with aims and activities adapted to its characteristics, situation and needs.

In the Spanish case, the general context of action was already defined in the National Strategy Report on Social Protection and Social Inclusion of the Kingdom of Spain 2008-2010, and more specifically in the National Action Plan on Social Inclusion of the Kingdom of Spain 2008-2010 (NAPin 2008-2010) that includes that Report.

Spanish NAPin 2008-2010 puts forward two strategic lines of action for fighting against poverty and social exclusion:

  • Promote the active inclusion encouraging labour insertion of people and combining this aim with a suitable income guarantee policy and access to quality services, particularly in educational services, understanding that these factors are fed back.
  • Tackle the impact of increasing immigration and aging population in poverty and social exclusion, especially in the current situation of economic crisis.

Within the AE2010, and related to these strategic lines, various events throughout the territory will be held addressed to debate, reflect and advance in the fight against poverty and social exclusion like working days, seminars and conferences. Always taking into account the importance of promoting the active participation of people living poverty and social exclusion.

Several studies and analysis have been projected on some vulnerable groups. The aim is to deepen the knowledge of their situation and find the most relevant factors affecting their social exclusion.

In order to reach the entire society, it enables different communication tools to inform about EY2010 objectives as well as activities, conclusions and evaluation.
